WhistleStop is an un-definable shop of treasures. Jeanne Shea and Mary Heinrich Aloi have been in the antique & collectable business for 20 years each and together own “a small but unique shop” next to the railroad tracks on Flynn Avenue. They deliberately do not specialize, feeling that their variety of items draws a broad range of customers.

Some of the finds:

• An assortment of bead necklaces and jewelry – if you’re a beader you can unstring the beads and make something new.
• A collection of buttons – update an old garment by changing the buttons.
• More than 30,000 old postcards sorted by state or region – frame a collection of cards from your parents’ hometown for a Christmas gift.
• Green goblets – great for a pretty dessert dish of fruit and cream.
• Framed wall art of all sorts, paintings, prints, signs, decorative items.
• A collection of “ancestors” – very old portrait photos.
• Costume jewelry – layers are trendy now – buy several necklaces to combine for a different look.
