Sometimes it pays to bring in an expert – and kitchen design is a case in point. John Campbell applies his background in construction and his decades in the kitchen and interior design fields to produce just what his customers want – without surprises. He understands lighting, cabinetry, finishes, appliances, and plumbing, and brings it all together for a personalized design. John is not limited to kitchens either – he has done fireplace surrounds, ceiling treatments, bathrooms. Projects can be complete renovations, new construction or anything requiring cabinetry such as built-ins and window seats. According to John, “If it has anything to do with wood, we can do it”.

John has a craftsman’s approach to his work – he prefers hand-drawing to CAD work, because “you can see everything”. He helps his customers define their style and from there produces initial designs. He works with a local appliance dealer to select appropriate equipment and has a list of recommended local installers. While focusing on Vermont homes, John also has designed kitchens for commercial kitchens and apartment buildings, and second homes in VT or elsewhere.

Custom cabinetry offers significantly better quality for a slightly higher investment. Hardware, wood quality, and finishes are meant to last; dimension options are infinite. Innovative designer features include self-closing cabinet doors and drawers and unusual storage shelves for corner cabinets.
